Subject:     AMENDMENT TO MASTER AGREEMENT WITH TOM RICHMAN & ASSOCIATES, INC.

RECOMMENDATION

Approval of the first amendment to the master agreement with Tom Richman & Associates, Inc. for landscape architectural consultant services for Various Parks and Recreation Projects to assign the obligations of Tom Richman & Associates, Inc. to Catalyst, and to extend the term from June 30, 2002 to June 30, 2003 at no cost to the City.

BACKGROUND

The Department of Public Works engaged the services of Tom Richman & Associates, Inc., in July 2000 for an 18-month term to provide landscape architectural services for various parks and recreation projects.  In February 2001, Tom Richman & Associates was assigned to the Lake Cunningham Perimeter Landscaping Project and the agreement was extended to June 30, 2002. The consultant has created another business entity, Catalyst,  and desires to assign the obligations of Tom Richman & Associates, Inc to Catalyst .  This amendment will allow the consultant to assist in additional design development work on various parks and recreation projects.

ANALYSIS

To accommodate the change in the consultant’s firm name, it is recommended that the consultant agreement be amended to change the firm name from Tom Richman & Associates, Inc. to Catalyst and extend the expiration date from June 30, 2002 to June 30, 2003 at no cost to the City.
